Delaware picks up $8.8 million in Homeland Security grants

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has allocated $8,795,828 to the State of Delaware under four separate Homeland Security Grant Programs.

The Homeland Security Grant Program ($3.9 million) supports preventing, preparing for and responding to acts of terrorism.

The Emergency Management Performance Grant ($3.2 million) supports emergency preparedness for all potential hazards to the public.

The Port Security Grant ($166,500) funds security upgrades for port facilities and other transportation infrastructure.

The Nonprofit Security Grant Program ($200,000) supports hardening physical security at nonprofit organizations deemed at high risk of a terrorist attack.

These grants are for fiscal year 2018.
