Delaware officials eye transparency of Delmarva Power bills

DOVER, Del. (AP) — Delaware utility regulators are continuing discussions on whether Delmarva Power utility customers deserve to have more transparency on their bills.
The state Public Service Commission was scheduled to host a bill transparency workshop on Tuesday as part of ongoing discussions about the issue.
In response to concerns raised by state lawmakers in 2013, Delmarva Power last year began providing more detailed cost breakdowns on monthly bills regarding state required charges for energy assistance and renewable energy programs.
Those charges previously had been rolled into the distribution charge portion of customers’ bills.
Delmarva Power asked that discussion of whether any other charges should be further broken out be postponed until it converted to a new billing system.
