Delaware gets high marks for small business friendliness

Thumbtack, an app that connects professionals with potential projects, today released the results of its 2017 Small Business Friendliness Survey.

The San Francisco-based company surveyed 13,000 small business owners across 50 states and 80 cities on policies such as licensing requirements, tax regulations, labor regulations and health and safety rules.

Delaware earned an A in all categories and ranked second out of 50 states.

“The small business owners we heard from in Delaware were 9 percent more positive about their state’s support for small businesses than the national average, leading to their A+ grade overall,” said Thumbtack Economist Lucas Puente, PhD. “And compared to nearby states, such as Maryland (B-) and New Jersey (C-), Delaware did better.”
