New board members at Catholic Charities
Rich Kolodgie was elected board chair of the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington. Kolodgie is currently senior career transition coach for Barton Career Advisors in Wilmington, and has over 25 years of experience in human resources. New board members are Cindy Hayes Mann and Benjamin Ryan.
DelTech appoints military specialist
David Strawbridge was appointed director of military and veterans services at Delaware Technical Community College. Strawbridge will provide college wide leadership for the development and implementation of college policies, services and programming for veteran and military students, their dependents and fellow Delaware Tech employees.
Prior to joining the college, Strawbridge worked as an Air Force Reserve officer on active duty supporting Headquarters Air Force, Air Force Special Operations Command, and the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Meals on Wheels recognizes volunteers
Meals On Wheels Delaware honored three outstanding volunteers from across the State of Delaware. Volunteers were recognized in each of Delaware’s counties for their contributions to ensure that no hungry senior in Delaware has to wait to receive a hot meal delivered to their home by a volunteer. The 2015 award winners were: Nicole Bailey of Elevee Events in Rehoboth Beach, Todd Lightcap of MidCoast Community Bank in Dover, and Vaughn C. Hardin, of Hardin & Associates in Wilmington.
Montgomery McCracken elects Mark Fink partner
Mark A. Fink was elected partner to the firm Montgomery McCracken. Fink works in the firm’s Wilmington office and focuses on bankruptcy and litigation matters. He has experience representing committees, debtors, special servicers, indenture trustees and liquidating trustees in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court workouts in Chapter 11 and 15 bankruptcies.
2015 Delaware Excellence in Nursing Practice Awards
The Delaware Organization of Nurse Leaders presented the 2015 Delaware Excellence in Nursing Practice Awards. The awards recognize those in the nursing field who consistently provide, excel, and bring a positive approach to their area of nursing practice. The nominations are reviewed and scored by a peer review process.
Winners included: Rosemarie Pomilla, Patricia Fenimore, Kelsey Marvel, Melanie Bauer, Julia Bayne, Tyler Coty and Theresa Latorre-Tegtmeier.
Wohlsen Construction lauded for excellence in safety, training
Wohlsen Construction Co. was awarded the Associated Builders and Contractors’ 2015 T.E.A.M. Gold award at the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter’s Member Achievement Dinner last month. The T.E.A.M. (Training Education and Management) award marks Wohlsen’s commitment to education and training, a paramount element in achieving excellence in safety.
Gunnip & Company announces promotions
Diane Urban has been promoted to manager. Urban started her career at Gunnip in 2005 in its accounting and auditing and entrepreneurial services departments. In 2014, Diane was selected by the Delaware Business Times as a “40 Under 40” award recipient.
John Mraz, has been promoted to supervisor. Mraz is a lifelong resident of Wilmington and graduate of the University of Delaware. John has been at Gunnip & Company since 2007, serving in the firm’s special purpose entity and tax divisions before joining the audit department in 2012.
Alex Masciantonio has been promoted to supervisor. He earned a masters of tax in 2014 from the Florida Atlanta University. Masciantonio works in the firm’s tax department.
Jackie Doody, Amy Henretty, Josh Hyman and Oliver Reid were promoted to senior accountants. Doody works in the accounting and auditing and entrepreneurial services departments; Henretty works in the tax department; Hyman works in the firm’s accounting and assurance department; and Reid recently passed all four portions of the uniform certified public accountant exam and received his CPA designation this August.

Breen named interim CEO for DuPont
Edward Breen, a current member of the DuPont Board of Directors, will assume therole of Interim Chair and CEO of DuPont. Breen will replace retiring CEO Ellen Kullman. Breen serves as chairman of Tyco International PLC, a leading global provider of security products and services, fire detection and suppression products and services and life safety products, where he also served as Chief Executive Officer from 2002 to 2012.
DuPont’s board has engaged an executive recruitment firm to identify a full-time replacement.

John Pierson is the new executive director of the American Heart Association. Leading the Delaware division, the executive director is responsible for advancing the mission of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association through exceptional volunteer leadership and staff engagement in achieving the health impact and revenue goals.
