Your biggest break: I was fortunate to start my professional career with an unbelievable mentor who, to this day, challenges me to think differently and encourages my growth and development. I would like to give a special thanks to Michael Quick for his ongoing support.
Best career advice you ever got: “Motivation is for amateurs,” and “The cost of being wrong is less than the cost of doing nothing.”
Two words that best describe you: Driven and strategic.
Work/life balance technique you recommend: Follow a structured schedule. I love spending time with my family and I love my job. If you enjoy what you do, it should not feel like work.
If you were in charge of Delaware: I would provide more funding to programs like Teach for America’s Lead for Delaware initiative that focuses on the recruitment, development and retention of diverse school principals across the state. One excellent principal impacts hundreds of lives and enables children in our schools to develop skills to advocate on behalf of themselves and their communities toward life readiness.
