What the nominator said:

“Sarah is a strategic, collaborative leader who excels in communication. She channels her expertise to make a difference in the community, and her vision is a more equal Delaware. Her mission is to tell as many stories as it takes to make that vision come true, and she is active in the community, having previously volunteered at organizations like the Delaware Association for the Blind and the American Cancer Society.”

Social media platform you can’t live without:

Facebook

Biggest break:

“Meeting my mentor, Michelle Morin.”

Two words that best describe you:

Passionate and focused.

Work/life balance technique you recommend:

“I’m very much a Type A personality, so relaxing can actually be stressful for me. My tip for other Type A people out there would be to find what relaxes you and then make it a deliverable that you have to check off the list. You didn’t get done your to-do list if you didn’t go for that run, finally open that book, catch up on that TV show or take that catnap.”

Your advice for the next generation:

“Understand the importance of relationships. Oh, and stop taking life so seriously.”

In one sentence, define success:

“Success is knowing that others are better off, because you have lived.”

So thrilled to see Sarah recognized for her amazing contributions! For those of you who have not yet met Sarah – and you should! – in addition to delivering excellence in her role at Nemours, this has been a busy year for her: she was elected President of the Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation where she served on the Board prior to taking office, just completed a successful fundraising event for Fresh Start, is a Scholar within the 2017 Leadership Delaware cohort, and continues to participate in educational and philanthropic events in Delaware and the region, all while becoming engaged and planning her fast approaching wedding. Congratulations Sarah on a year well traveled!
