What the nominator said:
“Sara is committed to making Milford the best place in the First State to live, work and play. She hopes her energy, enthusiasm and passion toward this commitment will inspire others and lead to a community-wide vision to make Milford the model for other small towns.”
Social media platform you can’t live without:
Instagram
Biggest break:
“My biggest break was moving to Milford in the eighth grade from State College, P.A., when my mom got a job with Bayhealth in Dover. It removed me from the State College bubble where I undoubtedly would have ended up going to Penn State with full potential of never leaving the town. Once in Delaware, I was exposed to a whole new world with more opportunities, one of which was Immaculata University, where I completed my undergrad degree in 2008. It’s the reason I am the volunteer and leader I am today.”
Two words that best describe you:
Passionate and dedicated.
Work/life balance technique you recommend:
“Find something you absolutely love to do, both in a paying gig and a volunteer gig, and it will never feel like work. I think I’ve found the key to a well-lived life.”
Your advice for the next generation:
“Give back. To your community, your church, your favorite non-profit – wherever you’re most comfortable and happy. If you can’t afford to, give your time. It pays dividends you will never be able to afford.
In one sentence, define success:
“Can I say, see work/life balance answer above? Honestly, these days, I feel beyond successful in this job because I am completely happy.”
