COMPANY: Harvey, Hanna & Associates Inc.
WORKS IN: Newport

What the nominator said:

“Ryan is a well-connected superstar and the man behind many of Delaware’s most notable projects and efforts in all three counties, including the Delaware KIDS Fund (Kids In Distressed Situations).
He is well-liked, well-traveled and a contributor to all things Delaware.”

Social media platform you can’t live without:

Instagram

Biggest break:

“Being hired by Harvey, Hanna & Associates. I previously worked in the radio industry (ironically in a Harvey Hanna-owned building) and was one of 4,000 employees laid off from Clear Channel Radio on Inauguration Day in 2009. Harvey Hanna was one of the first companies I called. Bill Lower invited me to a meeting over coffee, which ultimately led to coffee with Tom Hanna. We hit it off instantly. It was the most valuable turning point of my career.”

Two words that best describe you:

Determined and compassionate.

Work/life balance technique you recommend:

“Leave work at work. Take time to enjoy the moment and life outside of work.”

Your advice for the next generation:

“Support your community and be as active as you can. Between local nonprofits, charities, fundraisers, community events, networking groups – get involved.”

In one sentence, define success:

“My mentor, boss and friend once told me that success isn’t only defined at work, but also at home. Being able to contribute to the company I work for and provide for my family while having fun “¦
is success.”
