Age: 36
Title: Executive Director
Workplace: Kingswood Community Center Inc.

Raised in Wilmington’s West Center City neighborhood, Logan Herring knows that other people helped guide him to success. Now he wants to do the same for others. As the executive director of the Kingswood Community Center (KCC) in northeast Wilmington, Herring is serving community members of all ages with diverse, comprehensive programming for a better future.

But the KCC isn’t Herring’s only focus these days in the Riverside neighborhood. Herring is leading two other organizations as well. The first is REACH Riverside, which is aimed at a holistic revitalization of Riverside by replacing existing public housing units with 400 units of high-quality mixed-income housing. The second is The Warehouse Project, a co-working facility that allows program and service providers for teens to gather under one roof and network to collaborate, integrate and share the responsibility of ensuring that teens in the city of Wilmington are ready for the next step in life.

As his Mother I couldn’t be more proud.
Logan, during the course of all your great adventures you will be able to pass your leadership skills onto little LJ. that’s what I love. You have the support of your family, friends and community behind you so keep up the excellent work.
I know, if Rev were still alive he would be proud too…
    Love you,
    Mom

This seems to be a young man with great vision and commitment. But even more importantly, he appears to be a young man with a heart, a young man who cares about the communities, (which to me, is simply people drawn together by purpose, intention or circumstances).
We need more Logan Herrings in the world.

And to his mother, I can see how you would be so proud. “Apples don’t fall far from the tree.” Smiles

    God Bless You~~~~~
