If anyone is looking for opportunities to volunteer and further improve their community, Kanani Hines Munford is the person to see. As the executive director of the Governor’s Commission on Community and Volunteer Service, Munford leads the State Office of Volunteerism, managing a $3.9 million budget while overseeing a statewide team of 19. She earned the bulk of her experience in volunteer work as an employee of the United Way of Delaware for seven years, where she focused on fund development and community engagement.
Munford’s work spills over into her personal life, where she runs Women of Wellness LLC (WOW), a health promotion and holistic wellness company that empowers women to take ownership of their health in a holistic way. In 2015 and 2016, Women of Wellness, in partnership with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, launched a statewide tour of the Total Woman’s Conference: Empowering the Wise and Well Woman, addressing health disparities.
