Jason Aviles has the health and wellness of Wilmington’s citizens in mind. As owner of FLYOGI, Aviles specializes in bringing the practice of yoga to schools, corporate environments and communities, as well as clients looking for meditative assistance in a busy and demanding world. A graduate of the consciousness-based institution Maharishi University of Management (MUM), Aviles developed an original interdisciplinary course of study in Youth Development and Social Change, which he now uses at his studio at 605 N. Market St.

Away from the mat, Aviles serves as the executive director of Wilmington Placemakers Inc., a community place-making nonprofit focused on arts and culture. He is also the project director of Wilmington Green Box, which provides at-risk teens with entrepreneurial jobs while supplying urban communities with access to fresh produce, cold-pressed juices and healthy goods. Lastly, Aviles is the co-founder of Artist Avenue Station, a co-working space for artists, creatives and entrepreneurs.
