As a polymer scientist and development engineer at Dow Electronic Materials in Newark, Elaine Masser routinely applies her knowledge to improve Dow’s product offerings for the demanding semiconductor market. Masser also serves as the research development steering team leader for a customer-focused initiative called Partner of Choice, a multi-year effort to add value for customers, working across her specialty-area to identify ideas for improvement.
Because she believes there is inherent value in learning from one another, Masser is also one of the founding members of Dow’s STEM Ambassadors network to Delaware. Composed of a group of trained employees, the Dow STEM program gets scientists out into their communities to inspire students and support teachers. A native of China, Masser also started Dow’s Asian Diversity Network in order to share her cultural background with colleagues and help to build an inclusive culture.
