A transplant from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, David Skoranski moved to Delaware while studying law at Temple University. Since that time, he has worked across the legal system, from special deputy attorney general to his current position as assistant public defender for the Delaware Public Defender’s Office. He is most passionate about the constitutional rights of his clients. In one case, he invoked the First Amendment to successfully strike down a law that banned homeless individuals from holding signs asking for money.
Outside the courtroom, Skoranski serves as a board member for Revitalize Delaware, an organization of young professionals focused on spreading education about fiscal and legal affairs. He helped organize a statewide 2018 voter guide between Revitalize Delaware and Network Delaware. He is a Class of 2017 Leadership Delaware Fellow and has used his civic knowledge to volunteer on multiple campaigns, including for Ken Simpler, Mike Smith and Greg Lavelle. He has also organized fundraisers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and has been a member of the Rodney Inn of Court since 2015.
