Your biggest break: When my wife said, “yes.” Without her support and encouragement, most of what I do is not possible.

Best career advice you ever got: When I read Steve Jobs’ Stanford commencement speech in 2005, in which he said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

How you give back: I serve as a board member of the Delaware Society of CPAs, a council member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a board member of St. Anne’s Episcopal School. However, my most rewarding community involvement is likely my time coaching MOT Little League baseball and softball.

Your biggest challenge: Managing the integration of family, career and community involvement.

Networking group you use the most: The Delaware Society of CPAs and the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement.

Work-life balance technique you recommend: Embrace technology and the convenience it provides in working remotely. However, do not let it affect the quality of your interactions with family and friends.
