Social media you can’t live without: I don’t spend a lot of time on social media, but LinkedIn is my best resource professionally.
Your biggest break: An introduction to my partner, Larry, who has been a mentor and provided me an opportunity to practice real estate law.
Best career advice you ever got: Figure out the type of work you enjoy and don’t worry about financial compensation.”¯If you enjoy your work, you will do it well and financial success will follow.
How you give back: I like to support causes important to my family, friends, and clients, whether it be something as simple as sponsoring a friend’s participation in a charity 5K to having our business sponsor a number of charity events throughout the year.”¯“¯
Your biggest challenge: While a law student, I always knew I wanted to practice real estate law, but when I graduated from law school, opportunities in real estate were scarce.”¯I resisted the urge to seek employment in another practice area or to not practice law at all, and I started out working without pay to gain experience and find the right opportunity.
Networking group you use the most: I attend a number of different organizational events, but I most often attend either HBA (Home Builders Association) or CIRC (Commercial-Industrial Realty Council) events.
Work-life balance technique you recommend: I try to find a way to spend time with my family even on days when I am not physically present. I regularly face-time with my daughter if I am at the office late and take the opportunity to speak with my family during my daily commute.
