Emily serves as the state director for the Miss Amazing pageant, which she brought to Delaware in 2015. The national organization provides opportunities to girls and women with disabilities in order to build their self-confidence in a supportive environment. The pageant, which took place in April, brought in $5,000 for the program in its first year.

Social media you can’t live without: I’m old school and still love Facebook; it’s a hub for status, photos, and videos, and chatting and keeping in touch with old friends.”¯I love all social media, but they just piecemeal what Facebook started as a whole.
Your biggest break: Winning Miss Delaware United States 2015 was definitely my biggest break. Many people do not understand how impactful pageantry can be on a young woman. Some may only see a crown on my head, but to me it is a microphone to be a role model and activist in my community.
Best career advice you ever got: Don’t talk about it. Be about it.
How you give back: I am the state director of the Delaware Miss Amazing Pageant, which provides opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build self-confidence in a supportive environment. We celebrate the abilities of girls with disabilities.
Your biggest challenge: As a full-time businessperson, the director of a nonprofit, being Miss Delaware United States, and starting my own event-planning business, Elite Events by Emily, I find it challenging to juggle the many balls I have in the air! However, being young, flexible, and a diligent worker, not to mention organized, keeps me on track.
Networking group you use the most: As the former president of the New Castle County Young Professionals Network, I have built relationships with many current and past members that will continue to flourish throughout the development of our careers. I am also very involved in the Commercial Industrial Realty Council, which brings together members of the Delaware Valley community who are in a variety of fields relating to commercial and industrial real estate.
Work-life balance technique you recommend: Work hard, play hard. You work hard to earn a decent income and create a good life for yourself; you deserve to reward yourself in the fruits of your labor.
