Daniel Gordis to speak in Wilmington March 2

Daniel Gordis, an American author and speaker the Jerusalem Post listed as one of the 50 most influential Jews in the world, will speak in North Wilmington on March 2.

He is the author of “Menachem Begin: The Battle for Israel’s Soul,” which Commentary magazine called “the gold standard in Begin studies.”

Gordis has written extensively  on Jewish thought and currents in Israel, and is a winner of the National Jewish Book Award. He was  the founding dean of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles.

Gordis has appeared on Bloomberg Views, and Alan Dershowitz has called him “one of Israel’s most thoughtful observers.”  Leonard Fein has written that Gordis is “perhaps the single most popular speaker on Israel to American Jewish audiences.” The Forward has called him “one of the most respected Israel analysts around.”

Gordis will speak at Siegel JCC Auditorium, 101 Garden of Eden Road, Wilmington. The free event is open to the public but pre-registration is required at ,www.ShalomDelaware.org/gordis.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and a photo ID will be required for admission.
