After the bipartisan Joint Finance Committee called for eliminating all state grants-in-aid yesterday, the Delaware Alliance For Nonprofit Advancement emailed all of its members asking them to come to Dover for a a show of force for nonprofits at Legislative Hall this morning.
DANA asked nonprofits to bring board members, volunteers and clients to Legislative Hall to campaign against grants-in-aid being cut from the budget that will be passed June 30.
The organization asked members to wear shirts, bring signs and bring as many people as possible.
They also asked nonprofits to phone and email legislators and to set up meetings with legislators.
The nonprofits are in the center of a fiscal battle between Democrat legislators and GOP legislators. The Republicans want new spending limits and a three-year moratorium on prevailing wage. Democrats want an income tax hike.
