May 28DPH updates COVID-19 numbers for Thursday, May 28
The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) announced 75 new positive cases have been confirmed and that 1 more Delawarean — 345 in all — have passed away due to complications from COVID-19. The deceased range in age from 21 to 103 years old.
As of May 28, the state's COVID-19 case statistics cumulatively since March 11 include 9,171 total laboratory-confirmed cases — 3,575 of them in New Castle County, 1,392 in Kent County and 4,151 in Sussex County. The state said preliminary data based on reporting by state and commercial laboratories, indicate there have been 47,630 negative cases.
There are currently 192 Delawareans hospitalized due to COVID-19, with 35 critically ill. To date, 4,909 Delawareans who have tested positive have recovered.
Wings of Hope, to pay recognition to those impacted by cancer
The 10th Annual Wings of Hope … A Butterfly Release to benefit the Cancer Support Community Delaware (CSCDE) will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 starting at 9:00am at Beebe’s Tunnell Cancer Center, 18947 John J Williams Hwy, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
The event is highlighted by the release of Monarch butterflies in recognition of family, friends, and neighbors throughout Sussex County whose lives have been impacted by cancer. This free, community-wide event for all ages also includes an amazing display of seeded butterflies, paper butterflies, live music, and a beautiful garden donated by Sposato Landscaping with live plants for sale.
Save the date to join us for the release of butterflies or tune in the day of on Facebook Live @CancerSupportDE. Live and seeded butterflies are available for purchase to symbolize the special lives affected by cancer. Seeded butterflies will be mailed for you to plant and grow new life in honor and memory of your loved ones.
Delaware Memorial Bridge E-ZPass customer cervice center to re-open
June 1, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., the Delaware Memorial Bridge E-ZPass Walk-in Customer Service Center will re-open on a reduced schedule. The Bridge’s E-ZPass Center is adjacent to the Delaware Memorial Bridge Toll Plaza.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays: 11 A.M. - 3 P.M.
Thursdays: 2 - 6 P.M.
