The Delaware Arts Alliance, in partnership with the State Arts Action Network (SAAN) of Americans for the Arts, along with Leadership Delaware, Inc., (LDI) will host an arts and business panel debate at the Delaware Art Museum on Thursday, Oct. 1.

The panel is part of a two-day national State Arts Action Network meeting that will take place in Wilmington for the first time. Each year, representatives from arts advocacy organizations from across the nation, who are members of SAAN, meet to discuss issues pertaining to arts advocacy. The debate, which will be open only to members of the SAAN and selected guests, will examine how the arts and business in Delaware can work together on mutual economic development and quality of life goals.

DAA Executive Director Dr. Guillermina Gonzalez is the current chair of SAAN.

The panel debate β€œA Model for All Markets: The Evolving Relationships Between the Arts and Business Throughout Delaware as Catalysts for Community Growth,” will be moderated by Leadership Delaware fellows. The discussion will feature arts and business leaders from each county in Delaware who will examine the relationship between arts organizations and business in different sized markets, how these relationships have changed over time, and how they can continue to grow together to make Delaware and similar communities a vibrant place to live and work.

DAA was selected as one of the nonprofits that the fellows of the Leadership Delaware 2015 class works with as a case study.Β  Leadership Delaware, Inc.Β is a nonprofit leadership foundation established in 2009 for the purpose of identifying, tutoring, and mentoring outstanding young Delawareans who have the capacity, desire, and the courage to seek and excel at community, nonprofit, political, professional, and corporate leadership within Delaware.
