The Courtyard Newark at the University of Delaware received two major awards at a recent conference of Marriott Courtyard general managers in New Orleans.
Manager Director Bill Sullivan, meanwhile, was recognized as a Diamond Hotel General Manager of the Year by the Courtyard Brand.
The hotel staff was awarded the “Gold Circle Award” for excellence in the customer service areas “overall satisfaction” and “likelihood to return.”

The hotel also finished in the top 7 percent of the brand of over 1,100 hotels located all over the world.
The Courtyard Newark, which opened in 2004, has received either the Diamond, Platinum and Gold awards every year.
