Conference focuses on genetic testing payment

Kentmere Healthcare Consulting Corporation, a Wilmington-based outpatient-laboratory benefit manager for the managed care industry, will sponsor the second annual Kentmere Genetic Testing and Utilization Management Conference on June 23 and 24.

Speakers will include national experts in genetics, oncology, medical policy, and laboratory reimbursement. Health plan administrators will hear the latest ideas on where they should focus their efforts for genetic testing, genetic testing reimbursements and recommendations from national medical and genetic organizations on cancer genetic testing.

Genetic testing utilization management has become a major concern for health plans as direct-to-consumer promotions of new genetic tests and panels increase through news articles and marketing campaigns to physicians and the public.

The conference is designed for health plan and medical directors, network management executives, medical policy and reimbursement personnel and others involved in utilization management and contracting genetic and lab tests.
