Christiana Care Health System today is holding a special topping out celebration for the Center for Women & Children’s Health in Newark.
The center is slated to open in 2020, but at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon a crane will lift a steel beam to the top of the structure in celebration of reaching its highest point.

President and CEO Janice E. Nevin will mark the occasion with Women & Children’s service line leaders, patient and family advisers and Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long.
The new building will feature a neonatal intensive care unit and other cutting-edge accommodations for women, children and expecting parents.
