China’s Ministry of Commerce has granted conditional regulatory approval to the DuPont-Dow Chemical proposed merger.
The ministry’s approval is conditional on DuPont and Dow divesting certain parts of DuPont’s crop protection portfolio and Dow’s global Ethylene Acrylic Acid copolymers and ionomers business.
Dow and DuPont have also made commitments related to the supply and distribution of certain herbicides and insecticides for rice crops in China for five years after the closing of the merger.
On March 27, the European Commission conditionally approved the merger. The companies expect the merger to occur between August 1 and September 1, and the intended spinoffs to occur within 18 months of that. Additional information is available at www.dowdupontunlockingvalue.com.
