Delaware Cadillac has acquired Chevrolet of Dover, Mike Uffner, president and CEO of the Cadillac dealership and AutoTeam Delaware said.

Matt Kersey,  Delaware Cadillac’s general manager in Wilmington for six years, will be president of Chevrolet of Dover.

“We will strive to continue the Townsend family’s loyalty to the community and the Townsend Brothers’ associates who have served the public for many years,” Kersey said. “Three generations of the Townsend family have created much goodwill throughout Dover and surrounding markets. We will bring new technologies and sales processes to this family-owned business that will enable us to aggressively increase our sales volume.”

The dealership is located at 1450 S. DuPont Highway in Dover, Delaware.

Uffner said he believes the expansion into Kent County will better serve Auto Team Delaware clients. This addition will bring the total number of associates working in the AutoTeam Delaware organization to over 200.

Dover will hold a public grand reopening on May 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Attendees have a chance to win a trip to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky.
