Technavio, a global tech research company, has put Chemours at the top of its list of leading vendors in the global titanium dioxide market.
Titanium dioxide pigments are added to paints, plastics and paper products to enhance opacity and strength.
The market for the chemical is projected to grow to more than 7,480,000 metric tons by 2021. An uptick in the sale of coated nanomaterials has driven the growth.
The Technavio report cited Chemours’ performance chemicals, such as titanium dioxide; its fluoroproducts, such as refrigerants and industrial fluoropolymer resins; and its chemical solutions. The other companies on the top-five list were Cristal, Huntsman International, Kronos Worldwide and Tronox.
