Chase has launched a free app that allows cardholders to redeem their cash-back rewards at the register at 30 merchants – including Gap, Target, Low’es, Starbucks,Toys ‘R’ Us, TGI Fridays and Regal Entertainment Group.

The Chase Freedom® Mobile App, available on both the Apple App StoreSM and Google Play™, allows cardholders to

earn unlimited 1 percent cash back on all purchases, and they can activate to earn 5 percent total bonus cash back on up to $1500 in purchases each quarter at a selected retailers according to Pam Codispoti, president, Chase Consumer Branded Cards.

“Now, we’ve made it easy for cardholders to take those cash back rewards with them wherever they go,” Codispoti said.

Cardholders download the app, enter a Chase user ID and password, and redeem rewards and create a custom e-gift card created on the phone.

If a cardholder doesn’t have enough cash back rewards to cover an entire purchase, they can pay the difference using their Chase Freedom card or another form of payment. Cardholders can also store unused e-gift cards in the app to be used later.

The app also allows users to activate the quarterly 5 percent bonus cash-back from their cards from their phones and use the app to send or receive money from nearly anyone, using email or a mobile phone number.
