Buying through Amazon Smile helps local nonprofits

Amazon Smile, the charitable-giving version of Amazon.com, will benefit dozens of Delaware nonprofits this year – from the Middletown High Band Boosters to Blind Sight Delaware, a program for visually impaired Delawareans.

When Amazon shoppers shop through smile.amazon.com, 0.05 percent of their purchase goes directly to the listed charity of their choice. Items cost the same as items on amazon.com, and nonprofits pay no fees for the service. The Amazon Smile Foundation simply donates a percentage to the nonprofits.

The list of Delaware nonprofits includes Delaware Wild Lands, PFLAG Delaware, Delaware 4-H, the Ministry of Caring, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, Soroptomists International of Seaford, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware, Prevent Child Abuse, Literacy Delaware, the National Associations of Teachers of Singing Delaware Chapter and dozens of others.
