Barry’s Events will bring the Brandywine Festival of the Arts back to Josephine Gardens in Brandywine Park on Sept. 10-11.

The festival, which will run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, will include music, food vendors, children’s activities, and arts exhibitors from 14 states and Washington, D.C. in a juried show.

Wilmington artist Larry Anderson, a longtime exhibitor at the festival who is well known for his paintings of scenes from Delaware and the Eastern Seaboard, will be this year’s featured artist.

The festival, begun in 1961 as the Brandywine Arts Festival, a street fair in downtown Wilmington, has been held the weekend after Labor Day in Brandywine Park in Wilmington in recent years. It was renamed Brandywine Festival of the Arts when Barry’s Event, run by Barry Schlecker, took over its operation in 2010.
