PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, Colombian pop singer Juanes and the Philadelphia Orchestra are among the musical acts organizers say will perform for Pope Francis during his visit to the city this fall.

World Meeting of Families organizers say Tuesday the singers and symphony orchestra will appear at the Festival of Families celebration Sept. 26 on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in downtown Philadelphia.

The festival is the closing ceremony for the triennial World Meeting of Families, a Catholic conference designed to strengthen family bonds.

More than a million people are expected to attend the following day as Francis celebrates an outdoor Mass on the parkway.

Conference organizers and city leaders including Mayor Michael Nutter are meeting with officials at the Vatican this week to discuss plans for the event.
