Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL) was named co-chair of the New Democrat Coalition “Future of Work” Task Force. The group will focus on the economic and human aspects of the Future of Work, including creating a 21st-century social contract, reimagining and modernizing education, training, access to opportunity and empowering workers in an age of declining worker power.

Rochester will co-chair the task force with Representatives Bill Foster (IL-11), Chris Pappas (NH-1), and Haley Stevens (MI-11).

“Automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence are already shaping our economy and impacting our workforce,” said Rochester. “That’s why I’m excited to lead the New Democrat Coalition “Future of Work” Task Force. As Delaware’s former Secretary of Labor, I am passionate about connecting workers of all ages and skill sets with meaningful work and good-paying jobs. The New Dems have a strong reputation for reaching across the aisle to get things done, and I look forward to leveraging my professional experience and working alongside my Democratic colleagues to find commonsense policy solutions for one of the greatest challenges facing workers today.”

The Task Force is charged with meeting with stakeholders and developing policy positions. The group will target areas where the Coalition can advance policies that help the economy.

The New Democrat Coalition is made up of over 100 forward-thinking Democrats who are committed to pro-economic growth, pro-innovation, and fiscally responsible policies.
