Beebe Ball proceeds used for new tech

Surgeons at Beebe Medical Center will be able to monitor their progress during procedures with a new mobile imaging device, General Electric’s OEC 9900 C-arm.

The surgeons can see single images or live fluoroscopy, similar to a movie, on the machines, which will be operated by specially trained technologists.

“We continually look for ways to keep our technologies at the cutting edge, which translates into providing a higher level of care and better outcomes for our patients,” said Dan Mapes, the hospital’s director of diagnostic imaging.

The equipment was purchased with $160,000 raised by the 2015 Beebe Ball, the hospital’s annual fundraiser.
