Representatives from Bank of America announced a $75,268 Give-a-Meal donation to the Food Bank of Delaware to help feed local families in need. The check presentation was part of the Food Bank’s first-ever New Castle County community resource fair and mobile pantry, which drew more than 200 families and 20-plus community partners ranging from healthcare providers to financial literacy coaches.
The donation represents the largest local Give a Meal campaign to date and will enable the Food Bank of Delaware to provide 827,948 meals for Delawareans in need. Over the past four years, nearly $190,000 has been donated through this campaign to help fight hunger in Delaware.
“We are so thankful not only to Bank of America, but to all of the Delawareans who donated over the duration of the campaign,” said Food Bank of Delaware President and CEO Patricia Beebe. “When we work together, we can achieve great things. Thanks to this generosity, we will be able to provide a record number of meals to Delawareans in need.”
“Campaigns like Give-a-Meal help connect local families to immediate food assistance, which is a critical first step toward financial stability and ultimately, financial independence,” said Chip Rossi, Bank of America Delaware Market President. “By addressing important issues like hunger, we support our local economic development so that we can all succeed.”
