ALOFT expands with aerospace training program, new proposed building

GEORGETOWN – The sky’s the limit for ALOFT AeroArchitects at the Delaware Coastal Airport as aerospace leaders in Sussex County prepare to bring additional training and purchasing options to the scene.

As one of the largest employers at Sussex County’s only public airport, supporting hundreds of professionals in the area, finding quality talent is a priority. The launch of the ALOFT Academy will work to benefit the company by providing in-house, fully compensated training for new talent.

The company saw its first round of students begin on June 9 as full-time ALOFT employees. Those who finish the training and commit to staying with the company for two years will also receive a fully outfitted toolbox, according to a press release from the company.

The niche training will support the growth of incoming aircraft mechanics by covering topics ranging from regulatory requirements and specialized skills to general aerospace education and training on ALOFT specific policies and procedures, for example.

Operating under Pats Aircraft, LLC, ALOFT AeroArchitects is a premier maintenance, repair and overhaul and modifications facility that offers fuel-system designs and manufacturing services, as well as interior refurbishments and a repair station with global engineering and certification services. The company specializes in luxury interiors, including certified Boeing business jet projects.

ALOFT is also expanding through a newly proposed 3,360-square-foot building located at the airport to create the ALOFT Innovation Center, according to Sussex County Economic Development Director Bill Pfaff during the Sussex County Council meeting held June 3.

The building would serve as a sales space where customers can learn about the products and services offered by ALOFT prior to signing contracts.

ALOFT AeroArchitects could not be reached for comment by press time.
