Agritourism company seeks local farmers

A European company is looking for Delaware farmers willing to let tourists camp out on their farms.

Feather Down Farm Days, an agritourism company expanding in the U.S., provides farmers with fully furnished cabin-style tents and all the equipment necessary to create a farm experience for the guests. The company also handles all the marketing and bookings.

The company attracts tourists who would rather wake up to a rooster than an alarm clock and farmers who want to diversify their income streams.  Farmers share revenue from allowing the visitors hands-on farm experiences.

Feather Down, which works with more than 75 farms in Europe, has been offering U.S. stays for five years.  U.S. farms book from May to October.
