2017 Corporate Governance Symposium next week

The 2017 Corporate Governance Symposium will be held Tuesday, March 7 in Newark at the University of Delaware. The event will feature talks from lawyers, academics, journalists and executives speaking on the state of corporate governance today.
Ronald P. O’Hanley, president and CEO of State Street Global Advisors, will deliver the opening address, which will focus on how boards can consider ESG (environmental, social and governance) factors when planning for long-term growth.
Charles M. Elson, director of the John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance, will moderate the discussion. On the theme of the symposium: “I think we are going to look at investor expectations,” he said.
He added that some major topics will include types of ownership, board tenure, and board composition.
