Wilmington –  More than 250 STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) professionals will gather for Delaware’s fourth annual Inspiring Women in STEM Conference on November 15. The event will feature inspirational speakers and interactive skill-building sessions focused on negotiation, work-life integration, the power of saying no, and aligning careers with personal motivations.

In addition to learning from, and being inspired by, the journeys of extraordinary women leaders, the attendees will have ample time to connect with their peers to expand their professional networks. An Exhibitor Showcase will highlight local organizations offering volunteer opportunities to mentor and encourage girls and young women to enter STEM fields.

Presentations by accomplished women leaders will include:

  • “A Conversation with STEM Leaders” session will feature Susan Brennan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at Bloom Energy, Janice Nevin, President and CEO of Christiana Care Health System, and Dr. Alexa Dembek, Director of Science & Innovation at DuPont.
  • Tanya Bakalov, CEO of BetterSkills and Founder of SevOne, will deliver the Keynote Address.

The 2016 Inspiring Women in STEM Conference will be held at the DuPont Country Club in Wilmington on November 15, 2016. The agenda and registration information can be found at delawarebio.org/IWSTEM-Conference-2016.
