NEW CASTLE – The Youth Workforce Development Program (YWDP) of New Castle County Division of Community Resources is now accepting applications for the summer of 2023. The YWDP is a youth employment program, connecting New Castle County youth between the ages of 14 and 21 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience.  Through YWDP, participants can explore different interests and career pathways, develop productive workplace habits, and engage in learning experiences that strengthen their social, civic and leadership skills.

Employment pay a competitive $12.50 per hour and may be found throughout New Castle County. Agriculture, coding, culinary arts, early education, libraries, museums, recreation, and technology are just a few of the professional interests and routes that have openings. The application for summer employment in 2023 is open from June 20 through August 25, 2023. Moreover, year-round employment is currently accessible. Participants from low- to moderate-income households are the target beneficiaries of the funding granted for this programme. For placement consideration, applicants must submit verification of their household income.

This year, the Youth Workforce Development Program launched a new online application system. This new website assists both applicants and employer partners by streamlining the process and aiding in making the best match between applicants and worksites.
