NEWARK – Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO), the agency responsible for coordinating and prioritizing transportation investments in New Castle County, Delaware and Cecil County, Maryland has released the first two in a series of five public outreach videos. Developed in partnership with King Creative and funded through a Federal Highway Administration grant, the videos seek to explain transportation planning in a fun and easily understood way, and explain the importance of public participation in the transportation planning process.
The series includes videos on Regional Transportation Planning, Environmental Justice, and How an Idea Becomes a Project; and feature local experts and community leaders who help to explain the public’s role in planning for the future of our communities. The videos also include Spanish subtitles.
The first two videos, highlighting pedestrian and bicycle planning and the Route 9 Corridor Master Plan, are now available on WILMAPCO’s newly launched YouTube channel where recordings of previous community public workshops are also available. WILMAPCO provides several opportunities for participating in planning and encourages everyone in New Castle and Cecil Counties to visit its YouTube, Facebook, and Website to learn more.
