Waste Management’s Greater Mid-Atlantic Area (GMA) service territory and Delaware Recyclable (DRPI) Landfill recently presented a $35,000 grant to the Minquadale Fire Company in New Castle, Delaware.

The fire company, which is the landfill’s first responder, will use the donation to purchase a vehicle that will allow for quick response to emergencies on the nearby Jack A. Markell Trail. The 5.5-mile trail connects Wilmington and Old New Castle and is adjacent to the landfill. The Markell Trail also is part of the 1,300-mile 911 National Memorial Trail project to which the GMA recently donated $50,000.
