DOVER – State Auditor Lydia E. York issued the fiscal year 2024 Delaware Uniform Guidance Single Audit report. This audit examined more than $4.2 billion of federal funding for Delaware programs including Medicaid, Social Security, public and special education, clean air and water, support for veterans, disaster relief, affordable housing, food security, assistance to first responders and more. These critical funds are at risk of cuts by Congress.
“This audit represents what real, responsible government oversight looks like,” Auditor Lydia York said. “Our auditors are highly qualified professionals who follow a strict process. The results of this process are clear: almost all of the more than $4.2 billion of federal funding this audit examined is being spent responsibly on programs that every Delawarean relies on for public health and safety. When our audits have findings, we work with leadership to identify how programs can be supported to strengthen efficiency and internal control. We do not take a chainsaw to thousands of jobs and billions of dollars for Medicaid, Social Security, and other essential programs.”
