Revelation Craft Brewing Company takes gold at Great American Beer Festival

GEORGETOWN – Revelation Craft Brewing Company won the gold medal in fruited sour beer-style at the 2022 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition.

Revelation was recognized in the fruited sour beer-style category for its Razz Sour, a naturally tart, top fermented beer conditioned on a crazy amount of fresh raspberries. Revelation has been brewing in Rehoboth Beach since 2016 and is now brewing in their second location in Georgetown, Delaware, which will be open to the public in 2023.

“I am so proud of the entire Rev team, especially our brewers who put so much extra care in sourcing the best ingredients and working to perfect our process with every single brew. With Georgetown getting into full swing, we couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come,” Patrick Staggs, president and co-owner at Revelation, said in a statement.

This is Revelation’s second GABF medal. Co-conspirator apricot sour, a gluten-free beer, was awarded in 2017. The brewery has also been recognized in numerous other competitions for its IPAs, lagers, and sours. Revelation prides itself on offering craft beers that are true to style while offering the latest, innovative beers styles on the market. Revelation also offers a variety of gluten-free beers for those with a gluten intolerance and continues to grow its portfolio of gluten-free styles. Their beers can be purchased at the Rehoboth location and can be found at restaurants and packaging stores throughout Delaware.

The 2022 GABF competition winners were selected by an international panel of 235 expert judges from 9,904 entries, plus 94 Collaboration and 35 Pro-Am entries, received from 2,154 U.S. breweries. The top three winners in the competition’s 98 beer categories covering 177 different beer styles were announced October 8 at the Great American Beer Festival awards ceremony held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.
