Kyle Brasure received Delaware’s 2022 Young Agent Award from Insurance Agents & Brokers, the statewide independent agents’ association.

“Kyle has shown great dedication and leadership within his community and the insurance industry,” IA&B President & CEO Jason Ernest said. “He represents the bright future of the independent insurance agent community.”

Brasure is a commercial lines manager and producer for Wilgus Associates Inc., an independent insurance and real estate agency with offices in Bethany Beach and Lewes, Del. He has 13 years of experience in the insurance industry and holds the Certified Insurance Counselor and Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist designations.

IA&B awards the Young Agent Award annually to an independent insurance agent in Delaware. The winner is selected for his or her community contributions and status as an emerging leader in the industry.


Bayhealth announced Lilia Villarin, MD, will join the Bayhealth Primary Care, Sussex Campus team.

As an internal medicine physician, also called an internist, Dr. Villarin specializes in care for adults and preventing, diagnosing and treating the spectrum of illnesses that affect them. She offers primary care to ages 18 and older at the Bayhealth Primary Care, Sussex Campus practice in Milford and is welcoming new patients.

“Our goal is to expand access to primary care for all central and southern Delawareans, and we continue to attract and hire talented new clinicians to make that possible,” Bayhealth Vice President, Physician Services and Clinical Integration Lawrence Ward, MD, MPH, FACP, said. “Dr. Villarin is passionate about applying her medical knowledge and skills to enhance the health of our community and will benefit many residents seeking a primary care physician.”

After earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from De La Salle Health Sciences Institute in the Philippines, Dr. Villarin went on to a post-graduate internship at Philippine General Hospital. She completed her internal medicine residency and served as chief resident at Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

Working in emergency rooms and various inpatient clinical settings, Dr. Villarin gained experience in diagnosing and treating a broad range of medical illnesses. In her current role as a primary care doctor, she applies that specialized knowledge to treat various diseases and chronic conditions in adult patients, and provides routine and preventative care, to improve their health.

NewLane Finance Company announced Victoria Wallace as the talent acquisition manager. In her new role, Wallace will be dedicated to expanding NewLane’s growing national sales presence.

Wallace has extensive experience in talent acquisition and most recently held the position of Talent Acquisition Manager at PEAC Solutions, where she specialized in recruiting sales, IT, customer service, and finance professionals. “I’m excited to join NewLane’s team and spearhead their talent acquisition growth initiatives,” Wallace said. “NewLane has an excellent reputation in the industry and is one of the reasons I joined them. With my equipment finance experience along with their dedication to being an employer of choice, I look forward to growing our team and supporting NewLane’s expansion plans.”


The Local Journalism Initiative (LJI) announced the appointment of the organization’s new leadership team and board members.

Allison Taylor Levine, MPA, APR will serve as president of the organization, having founded and incubated LJI over the past several years. Known for her passion for democracy, journalism, and community, Allison has spent the past 20 years in various communications and community leadership roles in Delaware.

“We have the opportunity to build up our democracy and our communities in Delaware by strengthening the local news and information ecosystem,” Levine said. “LJI is committed to working with the existing local newsrooms and finding new ways to provide the information Delawareans need to thrive on a daily basis, participate in our democracy, and build the powerful social connections that make us a community.”
