President Biden announced his intent to appoint Martin E. Ingelsby a member of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, & Nutrition, a federal advisory committee that aims to promote healthy, accessible eating and physical activity for all Americans, regardless of background or ability.
Ingelsby is currently the head basketball coach at the University of Delaware and just finished his seventh season leading the Blue Hens. His tenure in Newark is highlighted by Delaware winning the 2022 CAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight years. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was a captain and three-year starter on the Men’s Basketball team from 1997-2001. After graduation, he spent 13 years on Mike Brey’s coaching staff at Notre Dame helping the Irish to eight NCAA Tournament appearances and back-to-back Elite 8’s in 2015 and 2016.
Roddy Flynn will lead the state’s connectivity efforts as executive director of Delaware Broadband Office.
Flynn most recently served as the deputy director of Congressional Affairs for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). Appointed by the White House, Flynn led congressional affairs for the Internet for All initiative which is tasked with implementing the $48 billion high-speed Internet expansion portions of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The Delaware Broadband Office is entrusted with leading efforts to expand the availability of wired high-speed internet to all homes and businesses across the state. Together, the Broadband Strategic Plan and GIS Hub have identified more than 12,000 addresses lacking internet access. With a boost from the American Rescue Plan Act, efforts are already underway to connect nearly 6,000 of those addresses by April 2024.
Flynn began his career as a law clerk to the Honorable Justice Henry duPont Ridgely before becoming a litigation associate at Richards, Layton, and Finger. His interest in public service led him to Washington, DC where he headed the Equality PAC, Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus, and served as Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon prior to joining the NTIA.
A native Delawarean, Flynn received his B.A. from American University and his J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law, where he was Burks Research Scholar and the recipient of the Calhoun-Bond Award.
Beebe Healthcare announces the appointment of two new specialty clinical providers.
Tiffany Edwards, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner who provides comprehensive care for adult patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal (GI) issues. In addition to caring for patients on an outpatient basis at Beebe Gastroenterology in Lewes, she also sees patients who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment of more complex issues.
Edwards is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where she earned a Doctor of Nursing practice degree. Additionally, she earned both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Wilmington University, along with a nursing diploma from Beebe’s Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing.
Edwards is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Delaware Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Locally, she is a member of the Delaware Cancer Consortium Early Detection and Prevention Committee, and previously served as one of the co-chairs of the Sussex County Health Coalition Health Committee.
Edwards became a registered nurse in 2001 and advanced her career to become a nurse practitioner in 2009. Her initial experience as a nurse practitioner was in family practice at Cedar Tree Medical Center. Additionally, she worked as a nurse practitioner for Nanticoke Health Services, serving their school-based health clinic, and as an adjunct faculty member for Wilmington University’s nurse practitioner program. During that time, Edwards also worked intermittently at Beebe’s Walk-In Care clinics.
Clare Holmes, PA-C, is a physician assistant who provides comprehensive, outpatient-based care for adults, with focus on the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. Holmes is a graduate of DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. There, she earned a Master of Science in physician assistant studies as well as a Bachelor of Science in medical studies. She is certified as a physician assistant and is licensed to practice in both Delaware and Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Beebe Healthcare, Holmes worked for Infectious Disease Associates in Newark, where she was responsible for diagnosing and treating infectious diseases in both office and hospital settings, offering both in-person and virtual appointments. Earlier in her career, Holmes worked as a primary care provider in Pennsylvania.
Becker Morgan Group announces the addition of a new senior associate and three new associates.
Allison L. Shockley, AIA, NCARB, LEED BD+C, has been promoted to senior associate. Allison started her career with Becker Morgan Group in 2012 after completing her Master of Architecture at The University of Maryland. She returned to Becker Morgan Group in 2021 after spending five years in Charlotte, NC. Allison has a passion for educational design and complex projects. She enjoys collaborating with stakeholders and the project team to understand their vision and develop the most appropriate design solutions within a project’s parameters.
Tylershane Giffear, PE, civil engineer, is now an associate with Becker Morgan Group. Tyler joined Becker Morgan in 2018, having recently graduated from the University of Delaware. Tyler received licensure in 2022 and has put that knowledge to work for clients throughout the region, with particular emphasis in northern Delaware. One of Tyler’s more significant projects has been Winchelsea, a 132-acre subdivision near Middletown, DE.
Andrew P. Colletti, civil designer, has been promoted to associate. Drew started with Becker Morgan Group in 2016. A 2014 graduate of the University of Delaware, he has broad experience in all aspects of civil site design and has specific experience working with large industrial sites throughout northern Delaware. His notable project work includes the 190-acre WuXi AppTec Pharmaceutical site in Middletown, DE, and Glasgow Commons in Newark, DE, a 149-acre logistics campus.
Ryan J. Musacchio, PE, civil engineer, is now an associate at Becker Morgan Group. Upon graduation from the University of Delaware, he joined the firm full time in 2014. Ryan has developed skills and experience across a wide variety of projects and has become well-versed in land development regulations in New Castle County, DE. In addition to various retail commercial site plans, Ryan is also experienced in designing residential subdivisions.
MRA Group, a real estate development, and client services firm based, announced two executive promotions for the storied organization.
Mike Wojewodka has been promoted to President of MRA Group and all related operating companies. Previously he served as Executive Vice President.
Additionally, Phillip Butler has been promoted to executive vice president of MRA Group and all related operating companies. Previously he served as Senior Vice President.
