Jeff Flynn, the city’s longest-tenured economic development official, has left his post after more than two decades with the Wilmington government to become vice president at Applied Bank. In this role, Flynn is responsible for commercial and real estate lending.
“Jeff has been an outstanding professional and the city has benefited greatly from his time with us,” Mayor Mike Purzycki, who worked with Flynn for decades both as mayor and previously as the leader of the Riverfront Development Corp., said in a statement. “We thank Jeff for his service to our city, its residents, and businesses, and wish him and his family much success and happiness moving forward.”
Flynn served as director of Wilmington’s Office of Economic Development for 21 years, where he worked with city and community leaders to overcome zoning challenges.
Sean Park, who is deputy director of the city’s Office of Economic Development will have lead responsibility for the office and will be the main contact for economic development activities in the wake of Flynn’s departure.
Secretary of State Jeff Bullock announced Jordan Schulties, director of the Division of Small Business, and Tim Slavin, director of the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, will depart from their roles to pursue new careers at the Delaware Department of Technology and Information (DTI) and Fort Dupont Redevelopment & Preservation Corporation.
“It has been a privilege to lead the Division of Small Business, and I am honored to have served in this important role,” Schulties said in a statement. “In my time with the division, our team has provided millions of dollars in assistance to businesses throughout Delaware, creating and sustaining thousands of jobs and helping to grow our economy. I am incredibly proud of the team we have and the hard work they do every day to support our state’s small businesses.”
“Tim’s leadership and passion throughout these past 17 years have transformed the division into what it is today and strengthened how Delawareans connect with all aspects of history. He has served Delawareans well. I wish both Jordan and Tim all the best in their new roles,” Secretary of State Bullock said in a statement.
Regina Mitchell, deputy director of the Division of Small Business, will serve as acting director until a successor is named.
Slavin will serve until June 30, 2022. A successor will be named to head the division before June 30th.
WSFS Financial Corporation, a parent company of Bryn Mawr Trust, announced Mark Bradford has been named senior vice president, market director, reporting to Jennifer Dempsey Fox, president of Bryn Mawr Trust. Bradford will lead the wealth directors for Bryn Mawr Trust’s Berwyn (Pa.), Hershey (Pa.), Philadelphia (Pa.), Princeton (N.J.) and Greenville (Del.) markets.
“Mark is a demonstrated leader with a deep expertise in planning and advice, with a dedicated focus on his teams facilitating Client success. We’re thrilled to have someone with Mark’s motivating leadership style on the team,” Fox said in a statement.
Bradford has twenty-eight years of experience working in financial services, many of which have been dedicated to managing and developing financial planning, private wealth management and investment teams. He joined Bryn Mawr Trust in 2018 after eight years at PNC in Philadelphia, where he served as the wealth strategy regional director for PNC Wealth Management as well as other leadership roles.
World Trade Center Delaware welcomed David Máthé, regional business manager of the Division of Small Business, and Janet Dougherty, vice president of Fulton Bank, as its newest members of the Board of Directors.
Máthé has over 25 years of export trade experience with the State of Delaware where he proactively assisted small and medium sized businesses develop export markets and expand global export volumes. He has organized and led trade missions around the world assisting Delaware exporters enter new markets. He currently serves as regional business manager on the domestic economic development team, where he manages a portfolio of business retention projects. He also serves as special advisor for international relations to the Delaware Secretary of State and manages Delaware’s relationships in Japan and India.
Dougherty joined Fulton Bank in 2008. In her role as vice president and relationship manager team leader, she assists business owners and company financial officers eliminate cash flow uncertainty through multiple banking products and services. Dougherty has a master’s in business administration with a focus in finance from the University of Delaware and a bachelor of science in public communications from Syracuse University.
Erin Witkosky has been appointed clinical corporate compliance officer in the Corporate Compliance & Ethics Office of ChristianaCare. Witkosky is responsible for enterprise-wide clinical corporate compliance; this includes all patient forward facing programs and activities.
Prior to joining ChristianaCare, Witkosky was the network director of compliance at a large health system in Pennsylvania. In this role, she was responsible for systemwide areas, including code of conduct, privacy and compliance inquiries and investigations, education and training, and auditing and monitoring. Prior to working in compliance, she served in nursing roles for pulmonary, outpatient, trauma, and ICU.
A Better Delaware, a public policy and political advocacy organization, announced Dr. Greg DeMeo has joined its advisory board.
Dr. DeMeo is the medical director of Christiana Care’s Labor and Delivery Department. Throughout the past 10 years, DeMeo has held numerous leadership positions for The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He currently represents that organization at the national level where he focuses on issues related to Medicare reimbursement.
“A Better Delaware is a leading voice for free and fair competition in health care,” Dr. DeMeo said in a statement. “State policies that restrict the availability of quality health care options for those who need them all too often result is worse outcome… I’m going to continue my fight for principled, sensible reforms that would offer Delawareans better health care, reduce costs and increase access.”
GillespieHall, a communications firm, has appointed Scott Pruden the director of content development. Pruden has worked with GillespieHall as a freelance marketing and editor since December of 2020.
Pruden has worked with high-octane teams as a reporter, copy editor and news editor at newspapers in South Carolina, Arizona, and Pennsylvania. In his new role with GillespieHall, he will manage the production of creative content across the firm’s client base and provide creative leadership to the talented team of writers and public relations professionals.

The Committee of 100 elected nine directors to help lead the organization in its mission to promote responsible economic development in Delaware.
Joining the board of directors include Helen Apostolico, principal and chief financial officer of Landmark Science & Engineering; Douglas Eitelman, partner at VanDemark & Lynch; Clay Greer, president of Ten Bears Environmental’s Newark office; A. Kimberly Hoffman, partner at Morris James, LLP; Christin Joyner, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at AAA Club Alliance; Jeff Miller, director of design and construction for ChristianaCare; Robert Rescigno, associate vice president of partnerships & community affairs for Wilmington University; Christina Summa, vice president and relationship manager at First Citizens Community Bank; and Kathleen Corcoran, director of Wheeler, Wolfenden & Dwares, P.A., for a second term.
Also elected to board leadership positions were J. Gregory Ellis, managing principal at Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties, will serve as president; Nicholle R. Taylor, president of Artesian Water Company, as first vice president; Deirdre Smith, vice president, Mid-Atlantic area manager for Verdantas, as second vice president; and third vice president Paula J. Swain, executive vice president, human resources for Incyte. The new secretary is Allison Kerwin, vice president and group manager of Commercial Real Estate for M&T Bank. Phillip Hough, senior vice president of Commercial Real Estate for WSFS Bank, will serve as treasurer.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach Greenville office welcomed Jade Didomenicis as a sales associate.
“I chose to join BHHS Fox & Roach because I wanted to surround myself with the best and learn from the best in the industry,” Didomenicis said. She resides in Newark and serves all of Delaware, specializing in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties. She is a member of the New Castle County Board of Realtors, Delaware Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors.
Becker Morgan Group, an architecture and engineering company, announced additions to its leadership team, welcoming two new senior associates and two new associates.
Chad Carter, RLA, ASLA, was promoted to senior associate. He joined the firm in 2017 and has since grown the firm’s offering of services to include landscape architecture as well as land planning. Carter works with the firm’s civil engineers and architects to create a cohesive project for each client.
Katie Wear, SHRM-CP, was promoted to senior associate. As the firm’s human resources manager, she develops initiatives within the firm that support the foundation for continued growth.
Brian Cusick was promoted to associate. Cusick’s experience stretches across healthcare, public safety, commercial and residential projects. He is particularly familiar with the Delaware marketplace and uses his broad experience to servee the community.
Ted Hastings has been a member of the Becker Morgan Group civil team since 2015 and was promoted to associate. Hastings is a project manager with experience ranging from residential to commercial development.
