DOVER – NeighborGood Partners, a member of the National NeighborWorks network, announce it received $474,000 in flexible grants from NeighborWorks America, which will support NeighborGood Partners’ affordable housing and community development activities to develop and preserve affordable housing and revitalize and sustain neighborhoods in Delaware.
“This NeighborWorks America grant of $199,000 towards operating funds and $275,000 in capital funding is a much-needed boost for NeighborGood Partners mission to strengthen communities”, Karen Speakman, NeighborGood Partners executive director, said in a statement.
Since 1976, NeighborGood Partners has helped 10,042 clients purchase a home, coached 10,283 new financial literacy clients, saved 1,725 families from foreclosure, assisted self-help housing organizations close on 4,367 houses, and developed 1,554 homeownership and rental units. In addition, our large community outreach of the Restoring Central Dover endeavor, unifies our neighborhoods with a sense of safety, prosperity, and engagement.
NeighborGood Partners is a member of the NeighborWorks network. In fiscal year 2022, NeighborWorks America and the NeighborWorks network generated $10.8 billion in direct investment in communities across the country, and:
- Provided 415,800 housing and counseling services.
- Created 18,800 new homeowners.
- Owned and/or managed 204,900 quality, affordable rental homes.
