New Castle County announced $1 million of the county’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding has been allocated to nonprofits that support vulnerable women and domestic abuse populations to address community needs worsen by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Because of more than two years of fighting this COVID-19 pandemic, many groups of County residents were more adversely impacted than others,” County Executive Meyer said in a statement. “People of color, both adults and children, and women were impacted the greatest.”

Nonprofits can apply for grant funding here. The application process closes on September 30, 2022.

New Castle County has designated a total of $9.5 million in ARPA funding to NCC-based nonprofits. Nonprofit representatives are encouraged to apply for specific programs that support these women and families. Applications will be reviewed for compliance with the federal funding requirements by New Castle County’s compliance partner, Grant Thornton.

Additional grant opportunities will be announced in the coming months.
