MILLVILLE, NJ – Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) officials joined with representatives of Jet East, a Gama Aviation company, to announce the opening of a full-service maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at the Millville Executive Airport (MIV). Jet East is leasing the airport’s two most modern aviation hangars located just off Thunderbolt Drive.  These state-of-the-art hangars have approximately 70,000 s.f. of useable space, including maintenance hangar, office, storage, and shop.  The initial term of the deal is for ten years, with two additional option periods of five years each, taking Jet East’s potential tenancy out to the year 2041.

“We’re excited to open a new MRO facility at the Millville Executive Airport,” said Stephen Maiden, President and CEO of Jet East in a statement.  “The collaboration and support we have received from the DRBA, the airport and the Millville community has been overwhelmingly positive.  We look forward to working together with all community stakeholders as we grow our operation and its capabilities.”

Maiden noted that the Millville location is strategically located in the northeast sector of the United States with close proximity to several other locations in the Jet East network.

“Jet East is a global leader in aviation maintenance and repair services and the DRBA is pleased to welcome them to the Millville Executive Airport,” said DRBA Commission Chairman James N. Hogantin a statement.  “Over the past twenty years, the DRBA has invested more than $50 million to enhance the airport’s infrastructure, laying the foundation for manufacturing businesses like Jet East to ramp up and take flight here.  The sky’s the limit at Millville Executive Airport and we look forward to a successful, long-term relationship with Jet East and their parent company, Gama Aviation.”

The Millville MRO facility will conduct heavy scheduled maintenance of corporate and private aircraft, with a focus on being a Citation Center of Excellence.  When fully operational, the new MRO unit will be performing maintenance work on up to 15 aircraft and employing approximately 250 employees in a variety of career fields, including aviation maintenance technicians, avionics technicians, aircraft interior technicians, planners, project managers, purchasing agents, materials and parts personnel and administration support professionals.  Jet East offers competitive salaries with an industry leading benefit package.

Hogan added that Jet East is a natural fit for the Millville facility.  “Throughout its history, Millville Executive Airport has been home to engine overhaul facilities – including Airwork, Purex, UNC, General Electric, Dallas Airmotive and, since 2009, Worldwide Turbines LLC.   It’s great to see an industry leading MRO like Jet East setting up shop here.”

Jet East also has the right of first refusal (ROFR) to lease the former Dallas Airmotive hangar facility located off Peterson Street at the Airport.

Jet East, a Gama Aviation Company, is one of the nation’s leading aviation maintenance providers. The company specializes in scheduled maintenance, on-demand mobile maintenance for unscheduled events, paint and interior completions and provides related services in the areas of structural repairs, composite work, and non-destructive testing (NDT). The new maintenance and repair facility is operational and numerous career opportunities are currently available.  For those interested in a career with Jet East at the new facility, please visit www.jeteastgama.com/careers.
