Builders and Remodelers Association of Delaware changes name

DOVER – Builders and Remodelers Association of Delaware has changed its name back to the orginial name, Home Builders Association of Delaware (HBADE) on January 1st. According to HBADE, the name change reflects the history of the organization and its recognition amongst Delaware’s business community.
HBADE was founded as the Home Builders Association of Delaware in 1947. It is Delaware’s only association affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders.
In 2023, HBADE:
- Defeated an effort to make residential fire sprinklers mandatory in all new construction in New Castle County.
- Negotiated compromises for costly requirements related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
- Helped pass two pieces of the Ready-in-6 legislation package.
HBADE is an association of industry leaders who support of legislative, educational, and economic initiatives to promote Delaware’s economic well being and quality of life.
According to HBADE, the home builders industry generates $1.7 billion in income for Delaware residents, $372 million in taxes and other revenue for state and local governments, and 22,000 jobs for Delawareans.
HBADE is combrised of more than 350 member companies that employ individuals working in Delaware’s construction industry.
