Energize Delaware expands home energy checkup program to all Delawareans

DOVER — Energize Delaware announced the expansion of their Home Energy Checkup and Counseling (HEC2) program to all Delawareans. Previously targeted towards limited income Delawareans, the program has seen tremendous growth in recent months with Energize Delaware training additional contractors in preparation for this program expansion.
Home Energy Checkup and Counseling is at no additional cost and provides a one-hour in-home appointment, installation of energy-savings products, and counseling on ways to save energy and potential available resources. The goal of the program is to reduce energy consumption, lower utility bills, and make homes more comfortable and efficient.
“This program has long been considered the gateway into other programs and helps to break down siloed resources for individuals,” Drew Slater, cxecutive director of Energize Delaware, said in a press release. “An in-home HEC2 appointment is a fast and easy way to increase energy efficiency and start saving immediately. After all, the cheapest and cleanest energy is the energy we don’t consume.”
The program expansion will be effective immediate and provide an average of $240 in direct install measures to customers such as LED lighting, showerheads, dusk to dawn outdoor lights, pipe wrap, door sweeps, furnace filters, smart power strip surge protectors, and more.
